Vipo – Audio / Video Podcast & Vlog WordPress Theme Overview
Vipo from liviu_cerchez is a podcast and video blog layout, and a genuine exception here. Most podcast themes leave the feed to a plugin or a hosting service; this one generates the compliant feed itself for submission to directories.
The podcast machinery sits in a separate bundled plugin supplying the episode content type. Episodes can be pulled from an external feed by pasting its address, optionally repeating on a schedule. Single episodes carry transcripts and jumping points, and the admin panel reports daily, weekly and monthly totals for listens, listeners and sources.
What it does not do is host anything. Media files live in the owner’s own library on their own hosting, served through permanent links, so storage and bandwidth stay a hosting question. There is no encoding, delivery network allowance or paid feed.

Who Vipo – Audio / Video Podcast & Vlog WordPress Theme Is Suitable For
Independent Canadian podcasters, video bloggers and radio style shows are the target, particularly anyone wanting the show’s own domain and feed rather than a page rented from a hosting service. The import tool makes moving an existing show realistic.
An owner who would rather someone else carried bandwidth, encoding and a sponsorship marketplace should keep their existing podcast host and point episodes at files held there, using this layout as the public face of the show.
Important Notes About Vipo – Audio / Video Podcast & Vlog WordPress Theme
Copyright is the live issue here. Music beds, archive clips, sound effects and stock footage all belong to someone, Canadian fair dealing is narrower than the American fair use doctrine, and a borrowed track is not permitted simply because it is credited. Guest contributions need their own release, and licence terms for every bed and clip should be recorded before publishing. Preview images are excluded from the download.
Listening figures are collected about real visitors, making them personal information under PIPEDA, Quebec’s Law 25 and the Alberta and British Columbia acts; Law 25 also requires consent for tracking technology, and the update history records an option to disable the statistics module. The bundled plugin carrying the episode content type is named only in that history, so deactivating it takes episodes and the feed with it. The version signals disagree too: the packaged style.css carries 1.2.1 while the log on the item page stops at 1.1.7 in June 2023, with the full log on the vendor’s site. Some directory services the listing names have since closed. AppiAppi gives no legal advice.
Setup & Ongoing Management by AppiAppi
The customer purchases the theme licence. AppiAppi installs it with its bundled podcast plugin, configures the episode content type and the feed so that it validates with the show’s directories, and either imports an existing feed or sets up the first episodes.
The media header, colour and logo settings, episode archive, transcript and jumping point fields and sidebar widgets are built with the owner’s material. AppiAppi then supplies AI assisted SEO and content support, keeps the theme and plugin current and answers listener enquiries.
