VideoTube – Responsive Video WordPress Theme Overview
VideoTube from phpface is a video portal layout, a site where clips are collected, sorted and browsed rather than written about. It is built on WPBakery and uses a dedicated video content type.
What ships is worth stating precisely: a real video post type with its own taxonomy and address slug, channel pages grouping clips, visitor registration with front end submission, a like button and counter, sorting by likes, views or date, automatic thumbnails, and review scoring with unlimited criteria. Hosting does not ship. The player takes an address from YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Facebook, Streamable and other oEmbed services, or a file the owner uploads.
Nothing in the listing describes a duration field, a paid access gate, subscriber billing or advertising insertion. The layout range is the other half: more than ten home templates, from two column arrangements to six column grids, an infinite scroll template and seven colour schemes.

Who VideoTube – Responsive Video WordPress Theme Is Suitable For
This fits a Canadian organisation that curates clips rather than producing them: a community video site, a sports club archive, a film school showcase, a tutorials library, or a channel built from material the owner may embed.
It is not a magazine layout and not a home for long written pieces. Nor does it suit an owner expecting to charge for viewing or to serve advertising from inside the theme.
Important Notes About VideoTube – Responsive Video WordPress Theme
A companion plugin called VideoTube Core must be activated after the theme is installed or updated. The video content type, shortcodes and submission forms travel with it, so deactivating it removes content structure rather than styling. Banner and packaged style sheet both read 3.4.7, while the newest dated changelog entry, from August 2024, carries no version and the newest numbered one is 3.4.5 from August 2022.
The declared ceiling is WordPress 6.9.x, the item is not optimized for the block editor, and nothing appears in the Compatible With field although WPBakery ships with it. The listing presents review scoring as built in where the update history names a third party plugin. Clip copyright and platform terms both apply, and Canadian fair dealing is narrower than the American doctrine. Visitor uploads need a moderation policy and someone to contact. Member accounts carry personal information covered by federal, Quebec, Alberta and British Columbia privacy statutes, newsletters need anti spam consent, and pages serving Quebec are expected in French. AppiAppi does not offer legal advice.
Setup & Ongoing Management by AppiAppi
The licence stays with the customer, and AppiAppi installs the theme, activates the companion plugin and replaces the demo library with real material: the home template and widget blocks and how an editor rearranges them, channel and category archives, the video template, featured and most viewed placements, review criteria where scoring is used, member registration and the submission queue, promotional widget areas and a subscribe form.
Afterwards the cadence matches the plan: updates, adding clips, AI-assisted content and SEO support from AppiAppi, moderating submissions, watching page weight, and answering viewer enquiries.
