The published record is the main caution. The newest entry is dated July 2023, the marketplace listing has not moved since, and declared WordPress support stops short of the 7.0 series. Nothing in the listing says the theme is discontinued or unsupported, and a changelog line about a deprecated constructor is a routine PHP fix from 2017, not a notice about the product. That same entry also claims compatibility with a WordPress release number that does not exist, which reads as a slip for the PHP version on the next line; the marketplace’s declared list is the figure to rely on.
The Simplicity Core plugin carries the theme’s shortcodes and portfolio post type and has to stay active; without it the pages built from those shortcodes lose their content. Transitions and smooth scrolling intercept normal page behaviour, which matters for keyboard navigation and for visitors who prefer reduced motion. The demo artwork is credited to a named illustrator and the vendor states its images cannot be reused, so the owner supplies their own. Client work usually needs permission.
