King – Viral Magazine WordPress Theme Overview
King is a viral content layout from KingThemes, and its distinguishing choice is that the community machinery is in the theme rather than in plugins. Member profiles, a follow system, badges, groups and a leaderboard all ship as part of it.
Visitors are meant to contribute. Front-end submission covers news, video, images, lists, polls and trivia quizzes, with front-end editing and saved drafts, so the home page fills from readers as much as from staff.
Reaction and ranking features do the rest of the work: likes, post and comment reactions, view counters, live search, live notifications, hot and trending pages, editor’s choice placement and a night mode.

Who King – Viral Magazine WordPress Theme Is Suitable For
It fits a Canadian entertainment or trending-content site, a fan community, a quiz and poll publisher or a student-run publication, anywhere reader submissions and voting are the editorial engine rather than a sideline.
A newsroom with a fixed staff of writers gains little from it, and the volume of submitted material means moderation has to be resourced before launch rather than after.
Important Notes About King – Viral Magazine WordPress Theme
Because profiles, following and submission are the theme’s own code rather than BuddyPress, they do not survive a change of theme: the accounts remain but the pages and interactions built on them go. The current feature list still advertises a Google+ social login, a service closed in 2019, while the update history records it replaced with Instagram, so the working providers need checking on the demo. That history also records membership and payment additions the current feature list omits, and carries no dates at all, so no entry can date a release. The declared software ceiling stops at WordPress 6.9.x. There is no paywall or subscription billing in what is described, the advertising positions are widget areas rather than an ad server, there is no editorial workflow beyond WordPress’s own, and the sign-up block hands addresses to a mail provider rather than sending anything.
Material submitted by readers is still published by the site owner. Canadian defamation law is less publisher-friendly than American law, and the site owner can answer for content in comments and posts it moderates, so a moderation policy, a takedown route and a named contact are needed. Profiles, follows and votes are personal information, covered federally by PIPEDA and provincially by Quebec’s Law 25 and the Alberta and British Columbia statutes. Sensitive content needs age gating, and sponsored or affiliate posts must be identifiable as advertising. AppiAppi gives no legal advice.
