Cobalt – Responsive Architect & Creatives WP Theme Overview
Cobalt is a plain, responsive WordPress theme for architecture practices, design studios and photographers who need an orderly home for finished work. Large project imagery, generous spacing and an optional vertical menu set the tone.
phpface publishes the theme on ThemeForest and the download declares version 1.1.8. Pages are assembled with WPBakery Page Builder, supplied with the theme, with settings in a Redux options panel. Envato declares compatibility to the WordPress 6.9.x line.
It is a presentation layer rather than a practice tool. No drawing register, tender handling or gated client area appears in the feature set, so documents, revisions and approvals stay in whatever software the practice already runs. The site covers projects, a studio story and an enquiry route.

Who Cobalt – Responsive Architect & Creatives WP Theme Is Suitable For
Architecture, interior design, landscape and industrial design practices are the obvious fit, with photographers close behind. The structure rewards a studio holding a real body of finished projects, since each one gets its own page and the filtered grid separates residential, commercial and competition work without extra plugins.
It suits a practice whose site is a shop window rather than a working tool. Drawing sets, stage sign-off and invoicing belong in separate software the site can simply link to.
Important Notes About Cobalt – Responsive Architect & Creatives WP Theme
The update history ends at version 1.1.8 in February 2021 while the marketplace records a later file change that September, so the listing cannot say exactly what the download now contains. The declared compatibility record holds no plugin entries at all, although the body names WPBakery Page Builder and Contact Form 7, and Slider Revolution appears only in old entries rather than the current feature list. Check all three on the live demo. Removing the builder later leaves its shortcodes as raw text, and automatic updating runs on a purchase code and token, which affects new releases only.
The vendor says the screenshot photographs are absent from the download and replaced with placeholders, so every launch image must be owned or licensed, display faces included. Photography of client buildings often sits under an NDA or an agreement assigning copyright, so confirm what may be shown and credited. In Canada architect and professional engineer are protected provincially, with the OAA and PEO governing Ontario, so titles on the site should match what the practice may lawfully claim. AppiAppi gives no legal advice.
Setup & Ongoing Management by AppiAppi
The practice buys its own licence. AppiAppi installs the theme and builder, then rebuilds every demo page around real project material: portfolio categories, project templates, the studio and services pages and the enquiry form, with photography compressed and resized so nothing stalls on a rural connection.
After launch we keep WordPress, the theme and the builder patched, watch the forms and answer what arrives. Project pages get real headings, copy and alt text, and our AI-assisted SEO and content service keeps the write-ups moving, to the depth the chosen plan covers.
